I’ve been gluten-free for almost 3 years now. When I started this journey I was a miserable person, now I’m happy (shh Ed!) okay, I’ll reword that. Most days I’m happy and feel great.
At the top of the page there is a tab that says gluten free. On that page I have started a list of good blogs, cookbooks and stuff to eat. I have suggested this page to others who are starting a gluten free diet and wish to keep updating it.
If you are gluten free will you help me help others by leaving a comment about your favorite gluten free foods and sites?
Diana,
I also have been gluten/wheat/flour free for about 1 year. It is like night and day. I lost weight, don't have asthma and am not addicted to food like I used to be. I also do not have eczema. I really had a flour/wheat hypersensitivity…not the celiac disease. There are different sensitivities to Gluten. I read about this in William Davis' book Wheat Belly. It's very informative.
In any case, thanks for posting. Very useful. I have posted your website and your blog to my FB pg. Return the favor and like the pg? http://www.facebook.com/Writingdivine
Thanks appreciate it. Will like your FB pg as well and promote it. Thanks for connecting and sharing. Found out about your blog from linked in pal K.B. Schaller. So that's the domino effect of the internet. It's so great.
Ciao for now,
Carole
Carole, I'm so sorry your comment went into my spam folder. I have rescued you! Thanks for the information on the wheatbelly book. I'm going to check it out. How fun that you found me through KB. She's on my site today.
Off to check out your site.
Diana
Hi Diana – I'm so glad to hear that you are doing so well after three years and that you will be collating info here on your website. I'd love to see websites which explain how to live in a “blended” household – GF + non GF.
Excellent idea, Margaret. I think I'll do a blog post on that topic next week. I'll see what I can find out there for links too.
I'm not gluten free but I know that Elizabeth from The View does a lot of gluten free work and I think she just came out with a book about it.
You're right, Kim. She has a new cookbook out. I have it. I haven't made anything from it yet though. I'd forgotten I had it. Thank you for that reminder. I'll give a few recipes a try and then list it with the others. Diana
Thanks Julie. It is hard to cook for us. And it's hard for us to eat at a a friends house. It always makes me a bit nervous, even when they go through so much trouble to make it right. Diana
I have friend seriously gluten-free. I'll pass this one to her. I know what a struggle this is from the times I tried to cook for her. As for me, I know I have more energy in general when I cut back.
Trader Joe's has some gluten free products. They're hamburger buns are surprisingly good — I'm not gluten free. Just bought them because that was what was available. Would stay away from the glutten-free tortillas. I tried them for the heck of it, and the texture wasn't very good.
Garridon, thank you for letting me know about the buns. I hadn't found any that I really liked yet. Good to know about the tortillas as well. Diana
Thanks for this! I have a friend who is just finding out she needs to go gluten free. I will let her know…
I'm so glad you can send her here, Carrie. When you first start this it is a bit of a nightmare. Diana
