In high school my next door neighbor became my best friend and ally. I watched her fall in love with a handsome boy, watched her fight with him and break up only to make up and start the process over and over several times. This boy had a brother and my friend thought it would be great if I were to fall in love with him, then we could be sisters. That didn’t happen, we didn’t have the kind of connection that my friend had with her guy.
I watched her say “I do!” to this man. They had four children together, and the last time I saw her she had come to my house to visit, to keep me company, to offer me her arms to cry in when my husband died.
This weekend her husband died. She is too far away–in another state–for me to reach out and hold her. I so wish I could be there for her.
Tommy went home to Jesus March 16. maybe he’ll hang out and talk to my husband about the car they both owned for awhile.
Reach out, hug or call your friends they disappear all to quickly from this earth.
sorry for both of your losses.
