I’ve been craving mozzarella sticks for months. That warm gooey cheese with marinara sauce is something I haven’t been able to replicate in a gluten free form.
When I saw this recipe on Pinterest I had to give it a try. I dipped the string cheese in milk and then rolled them in gluten free bread crumbs I had made.
This is how they turned out.
They tasted great–I think, but it’s been so long I’m not a good judge.
I can’t say that pinterest failed me, but I’m not happy with the results.
I couldn’t get the bread crumbs to stick.
Can someone tell me a better way to do this?
Here’s my Marinara Recipe 2 small cans tomato sauce 1 14.5 oz. can Fire Roasted Diced tomatoes (I use Muir Glen with garlic) 1 tablespoon sea salt 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning Put it all in a pan and let it simmer about 20 min.
Good Advice from Good Housekeeping is always Fresh
Leafing through the July 2012 issue of Good Housekeeping I stumbled upon an article by Blogger Nichole Bernier called Hobby? What Hobby?
She wrote about trying to discover what she liked to do by using pinterest. I copied her idea and created my own boards, Have Been, Am, and Becoming.
The idea is to find out what I liked to do, like to do and want to do. Sounds easy doesn’t it?
I don’t have much on the boards yet, but I’m finding it easier to fill in the Have Been and Am. The Becoming board is at this moment empty.
It makes me wonder about the state of my mind.
Is there nothing I want to become or do in the future?
Have I reached my pinnacle of being who I want to be?
Or
Am I afraid to dream big?
Follow me on pinterest to see if I overcome the blank board. Maybe while you are there you can follow Nichole Bernier’s advice and set up your own boards.
If you can find a copy of the article I encourage you to read it.
Reading through one of Randy Ingermanson’s newsletters I stopped at the word Pinterst. The article said a lot of authors spend time there. Not me. What was he talking about. I had to know.
Now I’m hooked.
My definition of Pinterest: Vision Board Exploded.
I can now say I am no longer a magazine hoarder. Pinterest for those of you who aren’t on it yet is a new kind of social media. Yes, I know who has time for one more sink hole of time. But wait! This is different! I promise!
Pinterest allows you to set up virtual interactive bulletin boards. You go to a website and see something you love and want to remember the old thing to do was print it out and hope you can find that paper in six months. New way: set up a board, pin the webpage photo, write a description so you and others will know what it’s all about. Then when you want to find that hiking trail map in another country because ‘oh my’ you are invited on a trip of a lifetime you can go to your ‘Hiking Map” board and pull up that website.
I use Pinterest for several things. Here are some of the boards I’ve set up:
Gluten Free On Pinteres
Gluten Free Writer’s Spaces Quilting Research Character Faces Social Media Help ME–stuff that reminds me of things growing up My favorite? Gifts I want. 🙂
As you accept more friends on Pinterest your catalog of choices to pin grows. You’ll be connecting with people who like to do what you do–maybe pickling is your thing or raindrops and umbrellas.
Before long you’ll be adding to your boards, breaking them down into better categories. For me Pinterest is ideal. No more files of photos, recipes and places to go stacked on the floor.
Want to follow me on Pinterest? That would be fun. I’d love to see what you collect.
