Here’s the back cover copy:
FOUR BROTHERS. FOUR STRAWS. ONE BRIDE
No one steps on Archer Land. Not if they value their life. But when Meredith Hayes overhears a plot to burn the Archer brothers off their ranch, a long-standing debt compels her to take the risk.
Years of constant vigilance harden a man. yet when Travis Archer comes across a female trespasser with the same vivid blue eyes as the courageous young girl he once aided, he can’t bring himself to send her away. And when an act of sacrifice leaves her injured and her reputation in shreds, gratitude and guilt prompt him to attempt to rescue her once again.
Despite the fact that Travis is no longer the gallant youth Meredith once dreamed about, she vows to stand by his side. But will love ever be hers? Or will Travis always see her as merely a short-straw bride?
Know what else is really fun about this?

I know!!! It was such a good read. I'm keeping this one on my shelf to reread again.

I absolutely love this book! It has to be my favorite. I have also read A Tailor-Made Bride, which I would have to say is my second favorite, and To Win Her Heart, which is my third. I haven't read Head in the Clouds…yet. But I am so looking forward to it because Karen is a fantastic writer.
While I was reading this book; I fell in love. I loved the characters, the plot, and practically the entire book…no I do love the entire book. I am so into this book that I gasp at each turn in the story, and felt the emotions welling up in my eyes.
I very much enjoy the books from Karen Witemeyer. I have her last book on my Nook wishlist. I would love to win this book. Sounds like a very good read!
Melissa, you're entered. 🙂

Maxie, if you don't win go get her book. It's fun to have found a new author that has a back list of books. I've loved everyone of them.
Diana
Diana I would love to win this book. That would be hard to handle to become a bride in that way. Don't know how one could handle it. Guess they would have to make the best of it, if they had no other choice. Sounds interesting tho. She is also a new author to me. Please enter me.

I've only read one of Karen's books, but I loved it. Thanks for the chance to read another.
SHORT-STRAW BRIDE sounds like a fun read. I love the idea that the hero is no longer “gallant” but yet still appealing.
I'll Tweet this blog segment 🙂
