a2z: The letter is ‘Z’ for Zandini

Posted on November 15, 2011 by Diana Brandmeyer
The Great Zandini

Now we’ve come to the end of the alphabet and the a2z meme that
Patty Wysong created. It’s been fun thinking of a blog post for each letter.

Z is for Zandini. On our mini vacation to St. Joesph, Michigan in August I found this guy in a corner of the carousel building.

I couldn’t help but remember the Tom Hanks movie Big, in case you don’t know the movie, Hank’s character puts in his money and wishes to be big. His wish is granted and he wakes up with an adult body.

I had .25 cents but not a wish that would/could be granted by The Great Zandini, he may have been predicting futures I’m not sure. The idea of know what lies ahead creeps me out. I’d rather let each day come to me the way God wants it to.

Then again if he were granting wishes…just one… I would have wished for more days to spend walking the beach with my husband.

What about you what would you wish for?

Casey, if that would have worked I'd have wished for that too.

Love that guy. We just saw Big recently. I think I would have had to put a quarter in there. Instead of “I wish I was big” I would have said, “I wish I was 30 pounds littler.”

    Cheers,

    Casey

Great post! My hubby and I recently took a vacation, too. Our first in years. We really enjoyed it and I would wish for more times like that, too!

Every year on my birthday we visited Casa Bonita in Denver, which had similar game. Between that and those roll-up horoscopes I set my faith for years until I found out God wanted to speak to me one-on-one, and wanted to direct my every step from the inside out! Funny, now when I see those kind of carnival games I'm reminded of God… am I paying attention?

When I saw the pic of Zandinin I quickly thought of “Big.”

I would wish to be cured of md, but the grass is always greener next door.

    Rita,
I love the walks on the beach. To bad one can't just have more of them when we want them.

Marji, I don't want to know, I've had so many not good things happen in my life I can't look past tomorrow.

Fun post! I agree, I would choose more time to stroll along the shore with my man!
Love the way you worked in an all important point, “I'd rather let each day come to me the way God wants it to.” YES!

Diana, I enjoyed getting to know you better through the a2z meme. Hugs!

I agree with you about the future. I get anxious sometimes and long to know what's going to happen so I can get used to the idea, but I grow more when I get surprised and focus on the Lord and His leading. Still, it's not always pleasant.
