Looking Up and #Row80

Posted on August 12, 2012 by Diana Brandmeyer

Attitude Continued

My husband read my last post and then reminded me of his favorite quote. I’m sharing it with you.

“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company… a church… a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past… we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you… we are in charge of our Attitudes.”
  Charles R. Swindoll

So my attitude  changed this week. How’s yours doing?

The only thing that gets me out of bed most days is the fact that I'm a personal optimist. So yeah, I think attitude isn't just the most important thing. Most of the time, I think it's the only thing.

Jeff, I used to be an optimist. Lost that ability somewhere and now I'm trying to get it back.

Me too, Diana. Why does it seem so much easier to say the glass is half-empty (for me many days it's more like completely empty). I'm trying though. Like Chuck says, it's all in how we react and we do have control over that.

Yes, we do have control over how we react–the sad part of being over 2 years old. 🙂
