Review: Fatal Convitions by Randy Singer

Posted on August 30, 2010 by Diana Brandmeyer

Once again Singer has stepped past the ‘norm’ in Christian fiction tackling the difficult subject of the Muslim religion.

This book made me uncomfortable with it’s semi-acceptance of the Muslim religion. Maybe that is a good thing, and then again maybe not.

One thing I do know is we cannot judge a ‘religion’ in fact, we must not judge at all, but rather be accepting of others belief’s. Can American readers ignore what has been done in the name of Allah though?

Fatal Convictions does keep your attention and you will be turning pages. For this book I’d have to say you’ll have to read and decide for yourself.

From the back cover:

Their two cultures are practically at war, but now he must defend the man everyone thinks is guilty.

The wife of a prominent Muslim leader is brutally murdered shortly after converting to Christianity. Is it a coincidence,k or has honor killing reached the resort towns of America?

Bust with a promising personal-injury case–and his role as a part-time pastor–attorney Alexander Madison isn’t interested in talking the case that every other lawyer is running away from. But deep down, he believes the accused imam is innocent and decides to defend him in the biggest murder case Virginia beach has ever seen.

Soon, a media firestorm, pressure from his church to drop the case, and increasing evidence against his client all make Alex wonder if he’s just made the biggest mistake of his life. When the imanm’s beautiful daughter arrives from Lebanon to help with the case, Alex is torn between his feelings for her and his obligation to his client.

But with a ruthless assassin still on the loose, not only is Alex in for the fight of his career…his life itself may be in jeopardy.

Randy Singer is a critically acclaimed, award-winning author and veteran trial attorney. He and his wife, Rhonda, have two grown children and live in Virginia Beach. Visit Randy’s web site
