The View Ahead
a2z: the letter “V” for View
It’s here, the New Year 2013 and everyone is asking what are your resolutions? I prefer to ask what is your view for 2013?
I’m a visual person. I get more done when I visualize what I’m working toward. One year I made a vision board slide show that I kept on my desktop. Every morning I watched it. That was a very good year for me.
My view for 2013 is centered around what God wants me to do. The problem for me is figuring out what that looks like. While I prefer to think God would like me to be comfortably well off-food, health insurance and a fat savings account, I have a feeling that’s not His vision for me.
So how am I going to figure it out?
I’m not.
I’m resting on this verse. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
But in case God needs a view of MY 2013 and the beach I’d like outside my door:
My View for 2013?
What’s your view of 2013? Tell me in the comments. I’d really like to know.
Diana
Diana,
I like your idea “what”s my view of 2013.” From a spiritual place it is meditating on “Be still and know that I am God.” My view for my life in 2013 is from a meditative point of view…in an easy and relaxed manner in a healthy and positive way.
No more pushing and forcing things to work for me!
Nice Post…
Fearlessly Yours,
Mary Ann
Mary Ann,
It’s odd how the forcing and pushing often leads to the wrong results isn’t it or if not, leads to exhuastion.
Thanks for commenting.
Blessings,
Diana
I would also like a view like yours, only if the sea can be a bit more rough. Crushing and splashing against rocks.
I try hard to take it day by day.
Retha, I love those times when you hear the waves on the rocks. I’ve never been by the water during a big storm though so I’m not sure how much I would like that.

My view for 2013 includes increasing other’s view of me… a.k.a. self-promotion. Blech! It’s so hard.
Another view is me several sizes smaller, but of course that will probably take me into 2014. It’s taken me 20 years to get this size, I can’t expect to decrease overnight (though that would be wonderful). 🙂
Ginger, I could echo both of those things. The promo is harder for me it seems. The weight is on track thanks to booth camp. It is HARD though and tiring. May God bless your endevors in 2013.

My view for 2013 includes a clear picture of finishing the novel I started working on last summer. I also see a trip to my hometown of Brockport, New York (again for the third year in a row) to visit with my aunt and uncle who are close to or at 90 years old. We want to see them while they are still in good health and living independently. I am trusting God that these plans honor His will for me and my family this year. I’m sure He’ll let me know if they don’t fit His intentions for me!
I love that! God will let you know if those aren’t His intentions. 🙂 That’s faith babe!

Fantastic post!! I love the view for 2013. My view is a jigsaw puzzle of what God’s plans are for me in 2013. I will be adding each piece as the piece is revealed to me. Hopefully I am in His will and the desires in my heart for 2013 are not mine, but the desire that God has put there.
I like that vision of the view being a jigsaw puzzle. Wish I would have thought of that!
